ALICE. released their debut track on Halloween, calling out the social media ghosters.

There are always strange happenings at Halloween. Reports of manifestations and apparitions, spooks and ghouls and freaks and fools, but unfortunately, in the world of singer, bassist and general purveyor of good times, Alice Offley, no convivial jesters, or McWitches.

For her latest single, “Stop Liking My Instagram”, the singer takes aim at the jokers that haunt her socials. These are the strange breed that display all the traits of true fandom: liking, following, messaging, engaging, only to suddenly ‘pop off’ to lurk on the peripheries, keeping tabs and cyber-stalking. “DOA just disappeared, from every day to never here, but you still watch my stories!” But she is not alone….

The track, originally written and produced in the summer and featuring on her debut album “Are You Dealing With A Snake?” due for a digital release next year, has been remixed and released by Alice, guitarist Marc Sephton and drummer John Mitson, who together form the rock and roll trio Alice. The newly formed band stand for “self-worth, defiance, and unfiltered truth – the voice for anyone who refuses to be crushed”. So no messing around then!

“This single is for all of the internet ghosters and ghouls who like to play disappearing acts after messaging for weeks, but then still stalk yer socials. Boooooo!”

Offley’s musical style has always consisted of catchy pop funk-driven tunes and Alice. continues in this vein with an added edginess. The George Michael influence on her previous release ‘Don’t You Mess With Me’, which also called out other types of blood sucker, is maintained on “SLMI”.

Think 90’s era ‘Too Funky’ with a rock element that Sephton brings with his wiry guitar, complementing Offley’s liquid bass and alluring vocals. “Now I know you might be shy, but don’t mean you have to be in-genuine”. With a playful video featuring the singer as a bespectacled school mistress teaching the “ghosters” how to behave and a cuddly toy snake for company, the familiar Alice Offley fun filter has been readily applied, but Alice. still deliver a silver bullet.

Launching the first chapter of her career, singer-songwriter Polly. introduces Ketch_up, a debut track that showcases her eclectic sound and bold, unconventional approach to music.

Polly – Ketch_up

As a singer-songwriter with a strong musical background, Polly refuses to be confined by labels. Her work transcends traditional classification, seamlessly blending the weight of alternative rock with subtle elements of pop and electronica. This fluidity has become one of Polly’s trademarks, something she proudly carries into her career.

When asked about her music, Polly. describes it as an extension of herself: “dark and uncertain but also undeniable, heavy yet intimate, androgynous and deeply emotional.” For listeners seeking a reference point, her style draws faint echoes of artists such as Queens of the Stone Age, Sleep Token, Lana Del Rey, Muse, Adele, and Nothing But Thieves, yet still retains a distinctive edge that sets Polly apart.

On a personal level, Polly. views music as a way to transform emotion into structure:

Music is how I give shape to the darker, more chaotic parts of being human. It helps me make sense of my emotions, turning my inner noise into something structured, something real. My songs are a way to process the unspoken, to pull something universal out of the personal. If someone else hears it and feels understood, that’s everything. That’s the point.”

Since its release just over a week ago, Ketch_up has already gained momentum. The track earned more than 600 streams within its first 48 hours and has now surpassed 1,000 streams, alongside more than 250 presaves. It’s a promising start that highlights the growing excitement surrounding Polly.

In true eclectic style, Ketch_up draws from a wide range of influences. Opening with Polly’s striking vocal performance, the track soon unleashes raw, strident guitar strumming and a dizzying solo. It shifts between the weight of its powerful chorus and the lighter, more carefree tone of the verses, further elevated by playful piano flourishes. If one were to compare, it feels like imagining Fiona Apple stepping into the realm of hard rock, a combination that sounds unreal, yet she makes it work splendidly.

Ketch_up is a mesmerising auditory experience, like an intoxicating drink for the ears, a melody that’s impossible to listen to just once.

With three more singles in the pipeline and live shows on the horizon, Polly. is only getting started. Her fearless approach and eclectic artistry position her as an emerging voice to watch closely in the months ahead.

Hot Sauce – So Romance Is Dead?

Hot Sauce is a product of Calum and Josh, a Duo inseparable since age 11 – they bring their bubbly, brotherly love to their music and exude class, confidence and groove.

‘So, Romance is Dead?’ is a playful track about modern loving and all that has come and gone in the field of classic romance. A unique, funky rhythm builds with a cheeky blend of vocals. The whole song is super witty, a genuine treat, and an audio delight.  The song allows itself to float between conventional boxes of genre, incorporating styles from across the musical world and creating a Hot Sauce special sound.

Their music is made for the listener to feel alive and young, with ‘So, Romance is Dead?’ being an impeccable first stepping stone for this mantra.  It promises to be a great career for Hot Sauce. I wait with anticipation for their rise.

romeinparis opens his music catalogue with ‘In My Space’. A single about the need for that special person to be around, always.

romeinparis – In My Space

romeinparis bursts onto the scene with summer pop anthem ‘In My Space’. Drawing inspiration from all around, he began his journey at the young age of 15. He became engulfed in music production and was obsessed with creating his own sound. The inspiration for ‘In my Space’ took place in 2024, working with co-producer Ken Samson. Since then, the single has been allowed to grow and develop naturally. This has resulted in a song that draws from differing influences. The track is an audio representation of romeinparis’ journey as an artist.

The opening of the song is soft and eases the listener into the track. The sliding guitar cuts the sultry vocals pleasantly. The chorus is not imposing but instead maintains the peaceful nature of the song whilst edging the intensity up a notch. The second half of the single picks up again and draws on indie-rock, even slightly alt-rock, techniques and sounds. ‘In My Space’ is a perfect chill song for an easy feel. The lyrics match the energy of the sound created. The universal feeling of love is detailed excellently. The lyrics are delivered with honesty and precision.

romeinparis has found a sound that works and stays true to it. ‘In My Space’ is a perfect pop song with just enough edge to make it interesting. I am sure that romeinparis will carve out a successful career in his field.

‘romeinparis’ new single ‘In my Space’ is like a cold drink on a hot day. It encapsulates the nicest parts of love and is a superb listen for any music enthusiast.’

WRETCH is a four-piece rock band with punk elements from Newcastle, England. “Sweet Shopping” is the title of their debut track.

WRETCH – ‘Sweet Shopping’

The track starts with a delicate guitar melody, with crisp clean vocals layered on top while the euphonious riff continues in the background. We’re eased into the first hearing of the chorus: “You make me insatiable for you,” followed by “Sweet shopping is what I want to do. There’s no stopping this feeling when I’m with you.” These lines are ones that most of us can relate to at some point in our lives, which already makes this an identifiable song.

The first chorus builds tension through a crescendo on the floor tom and snare that comes to an abrupt stop. Then, we hear these lyrics over what feels like a simple acoustic track. The catchy guitar part plays again, and the drums gradually come back in with a soft crush of hi-hats.

We’re then guided through another verse with this melodic composition, leading into an exciting buildup for the chorus again. This time, the chorus hits harder, giving the song a more pop-punk feel, which is a great contrast to the delicate vibe we’ve had so far.

From here, we get a catchy, punchy bridge that ties the song together flawlessly. This is also when we hear some grittier vocals, showcasing the vocal range heard throughout this track.

“An uplifting pop-punk anthem that’ll lift your mood every time it plays!”

The song ends by returning to that dulcet guitar riff we’ve heard throughout, then explodes into raw vocals layered together, giving us a harmonic yet headbanging finish. An undeniably outstanding track that’ll have you singing along to the chorus before you know it!

UK-born singer-songwriter Yeija introduces herself with her emotionally charged debut single, Spell On You. This powerful track showcases her fearless songwriting and raw vulnerability.

Yeija – Spell On You

Yeija (pronounced Yaysia) is a UK-born, half-Japanese singer currently living in Germany. Often feeling caught between different cultures, she turned to music as a safe haven, a place where she could fully express her emotions without restriction. Her sound is a diverse blend of R&B, EDM, and pop, serving as the perfect vehicle for her emotive lyrics, honest storytelling, and fearless approach to self-expression.

For her debut single, Spell On You, Yeija presents a deeply personal story that showcases her raw and soulful lyricism. The track reflects on a past relationship where she hoped to support and encourage positive change in her partner. Unfortunately, the situation grew increasingly painful, leading to hurt, frustration, and betrayal. Ultimately, the song conveys the powerful message that while believing in love is important, it’s also okay to recognise when it’s time to walk away.

From a production standpoint, this track stands out with its dynamic mix and captivating backing vocals. It also highlights Yeija’s vocal abilities, making Spell On You a strong and compelling introduction to the talent and artistry of this emerging singer.

“Spell On You is an emotionally charged song, driven by heartfelt songwriting and engaging production that holds your attention from start to finish.”

Just as exciting as this new single, Yeija is also gearing up to release her debut EP, Devil’s Room. This conceptual eight-track project explores themes of heartbreak, self-destruction, and healing, with each song representing a different stage of this emotional journey. Through her music, Yeija captures both the turmoil of pain and the resilience found in closure. Her story is only beginning, so keep a close eye on this rising artist.

Irish Indie/ Post Punk band Petrel soar on their searing debut single, Existing Condition.

Petrel – Existing Condition

Long-time readers of Right Chord Music will remember our love of the band Slyrydes. Petrel is the new side project of guitarist Eoin Reilly, and it’s immediately exciting.

Recorded in Dublin in the early half of 2025 and produced by Darragh Winters. Existing Condition is built around jagged guitar textures, busy basslines, pounding drums, and stark, poetic lyricism.

This is a wonderful introduction to Petrel and perfectly captures the band’s raw dynamic energy and obsession with light versus dark.

“Petrel have launched with something truly exciting, it’s a shot in the arm for incipid, middle-of-the-road music. This Dublin 4-piece has just raised the bar!

Introducing Petrel

Petrel offer a softer sound to Slyrydes and manages to expertly balance noise and melody. Fans of early post-punk and alternative indie will quickly find something to love here.

Petrel are a four-piece that formed this year, but each member brings years of firepower from deep within the Irish underground. Imagine four frontmen in one room.

Their name is drawn from the storm bird said to glide just above crashing waves. It’s a wonderful metaphor for their sound: Restless, intense and always moving forward. Petrel are instinctive, elemental, earnest, born out of both noise and necessity.

“Our main goal with this project was to truly be us, we went through a few lineup changes and different sounds until it felt right and real, it was never worth doing if it wasn’t going to sound real”

“We felt there are a lot of bands out right now that have a very similar voice. We didn’t want to blend in”

Meet the band

Vocals/guitar: Gerry Sheil, formerly of Scattered Ashes. Guitarist: Eoin Reilly fSlyrydes. Drummer Mosey: In Athens formerly of New Pope, and Rural Savage Bass: Ian McFarlane, Squarehead, Mick Pyro, Cruel Sister, and previously Kid Karate.

Freya Magee steps into the spotlight with Duplicity, a debut that blends folk-inspired melodies with cinematic textures.

Freya Magee – Duplicity

With roots in Melbourne and a heart anchored in London, Freya Magee is a promising new presence in the independent circuit, channelling the vibe and sonic intricacies of artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams, and Holly Humberstone.

Freya Magee’s artistic journey began in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, when she picked up a guitar for the first time and started writing songs in her bedroom, unaware that these early ideas would later shape the foundation of her sound. After relocating to London, she began performing at local pubs, eventually connecting with producer Phil Taylor at Laurel Sound Studios, where they recorded what would become her debut single, Duplicity.

With her debut single, Freya Magee puts her songwriting to the test, delivering a track that delves deep into themes of identity and conflicting expectations. Duplicity explores the emotional weight of feeling torn between different versions of oneself. Reflecting on the meaning behind the song, Freya shares:

It’s about the ache of wanting to live every version of your life at once. “‘Duplicity’ is what plays when you’re driving away from something, then slowly realising you’re also driving toward something.

Built around delicate guitar strumming, Duplicity creates a soothing atmosphere through its thoughtful production, each note drawing you in as the introspective storytelling unfolds. Freya Magee’s soft, airy vocals guide the track with an almost angelic quality.

“Duplicity is a stunning example of balanced production paired with deeply emotional songwriting.”

If Duplicity caught your attention, there’s good news, Freya Magee is already working on her debut EP, expected to build on the rich production and emotional depth showcased in this single. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting upcoming release.

Delivering a heartfelt ode to the unpredictable and unexplainable nature of the heart, REXEN has unveiled his newest creation, My Heart.

REXEN – My Heart

Known offstage as Michael Rexen, REXEN is a Danish singer, composer, and performer with roots in the United Arab Emirates. This cultural background informs his music in subtle but meaningful ways, blending Western songwriting with elements drawn from Middle Eastern tradition. His ability to fuse these influences gives his work a distinctive character.

By now, REXEN is undoubtedly a seasoned musician, holding a Master’s degree in composition from Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory. Demonstrating his versatility, he has released four albums under various names, including M. Rexen, A Key is a Key, and VS Doom, each revealing a different dimension of his multifaceted artistry.

Now performing under the name REXEN, the singer-songwriter has released a track that showcases his signature thoughtful songwriting. While My Heart may initially appear to be a typical love song, it delves much deeper. Rather than attempting to define the heart through words or structure, REXEN suggests that sometimes the heart simply needs to be set free, without explanations or justifications, trusting in the unexplainable power of love to guide the way.

With a slow-burning tempo and careful delivery, My Heart unfolds gradually, showcasing captivating instrumentation. A beautiful string section featuring violin and cello guides listeners on a gentle journey through the complexities of this often misunderstood emotion, all anchored by REXEN’s soothing, almost lullaby-like vocals.

“My Heart is a compelling and beautifully crafted song that shines in every aspect, flawlessly executed and as comforting as the sweetest lullaby.”

Fans can experience REXEN’s music live at his upcoming show at Hotel Cecil on February 7th, 2026. Don’t miss the chance to support this talented artist in person!

The Doomsday Orchestra’s captivating debut, ‘Papyrus’, delivers a unique sound that instantly cements them as ones to watch.

The Doomsday Orchestra – Papyrus

While ‘Papyrus’ is a debut single, The Doomsday Orchestra are far from new to the game. Formerly operating under the title ‘Gold Fever’, the trio has been playing together for several years, establishing themselves within their local scene and becoming one of Bristol’s best-kept secrets. With the rebrand, the trio have carved out a clearer, more cinematic artistic vision whilst sticking to their roots.

Describing their sound themselves as ‘post-apocalyptic pop’, The Doomsday Orchestra aim to create a soundtrack for ‘a world that ended in the 80s’. Influences from this time are evident in the overall style of ‘Papyrus’, from the punk-pop sound to the music video style, which channels vintage VHS visuals with a dystopian flair. This post-apocalyptic sound is crafted through the slightly distorted vocals, which create an almost eerie contrast when layered with the punchy and synthy instrumentation.

“Intense yet danceable, this track feels anthemic. ‘Papyrus’ presents a confident and conceptually rich debut. “

Old fans of the previous project, ‘Gold Fever’ will be far from disappointed with The Doomsday Orchestra. With such strong foundations and an alluring rebrand, the trio are set to entice a new audience and go on to further great things.
